Pete Buttigieg makes his late night host debut for ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’


Mayor Pete Buttigieg may have dropped out of the 2020 presidential race, but he’s got other fish to fry — namely, the late night show circuit.

The Democratic candidate filled in for Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday night, making his late night show hosting debut. Buttigieg, like Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Fallon, performed without a studio audience due to the spread of the new coronavirus, so some “artistic” applause edits were made.

Although some moments come off as a little cheesy and campaign-y, Buttigieg is actually a pretty good sport about essentially roasting himself for 10 minutes, making quips about the little Iowa caucus app that couldn’t, even gifting the crew ‘Pete for President’ merch “that I can’t get rid of.” Read more…
