Seth Meyers scorns Trump’s plan to leave people on a coronavirus-infected cruise ship

“We are now seeing what it’s like when a lifelong scam artist is in charge of responding to a public health crisis,” Late Night host Seth Meyers said during Monday’s episode. President Donald Trump has received significant and sustained criticism for the inadequate U.S. response to the coronavirus. Yet, predictably, said criticism has not lead to a change in behavior.

On Friday, Trump said he preferred to leave people on a cruise ship rather than bring them onto American soil. His reasoning was that leaving them at sea made U.S. coronavirus infection numbers look better — a good thing for him, and an awful thing for everyone on the ship. Read more…
